Day 4: March 12, 2010 - Quarter finals

Men's Singles: Lin Dan, the Gold medal defender, lost to Bao Chun Lai who has not even won one match agast him in the last 3 years, 16-21, 21-18, 17-21.

Mens Doubles: Two Danish Teams won their matches to reach the semi-finals:

  1. Jonas Rasmussen & Lars Paaske beat the second pair of Malaysia Teik Chai Gan & Bin Shen Tan 21-18, 22-20. After beating the top seeded Malaysia double team in the first round, this victory wouldn't be a shock any more.
  2. Mathias Boe & Carsten Mogensen beat the famous Chinese "Wind & Cloud" pair, Yun Cai & Haifeng in three close games 21-17, 18-21, 21-18.

The Danish is poised to get the gold medals in Mens Doubles!

Day 3: March 11, 2010

Men's Singles: Lee Chong Wei continued his journey at the All England 2010 badminton championship when he defeat Sony Dwi Kuncoro of Indonesia 21-11, 21-17.This is a revenge because Sony had twice beaten Choon Wei in the past world Championships.
second seeded Lin Dan of China defeat Hafiz Hashim of Indonesia in two games 21-14, 21-18.

Mens Doubles: Malaysian pair Tan Fook Choong & Wan Wah Lee beat Gun Woo Cho & Yi Goo Kwon of Korea 17-21,23-21,21-11.

Day 2: March 10, 2010

Upset: In the first round of Mens Doubles, top seeded Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong lost in straights games to Danish pairing of Jonas Rasmussen-Lars Paaske. The top Malaysian pair lost in just 27 minutes, loosing 13-21 and 11-21.

Men's Singles: Top seeded Lee Chong Wei of Maylasia defeated Chetan Anand of India 21-15, 21-16 in a 26 minutes quick battle.

Women's Doubles: Malaysia women team was more disappointing as all crashed out. Wong Mew Choo lost to Jiang Yanjiao 18-21, 9-21. The fourth seeded Wong Pei Tty-Chin Eei Hui from Malaysia lost to Greysia Polii-Meiliana Jauhari 20-22,15-21. Canadian Charmaine Reid paired up with Nicole Grether from German lost to China's New rising starlet, Ma Jun & Wang Xiao li, 16-21,10-21.
Canandian pair Grace Gao & Joycely Ko won their qualification round but lost their first round match to Lotte Jonathans & Paulien Van Dooremlen of Netherland.

Achievement of Ottawa Players

Canada will have two entries in the Women’s Doubles event at the prestigious ALL ENGLAND Super Series 2010 Badminton Championships in Birmingham England tomorrow after a new Canadian pairing of Grace Gao of Alberta and Joycelyn Ko of Ontario survived the qualification rounds today and will join Charmaine Reid and her German partner Nicole Grether.
