The High School Membership

The High School Challenges

 

 

High School Membership:

 

Ø      Affiliate with District, Provincial and National organizations

Ø      Have full access to all Junior badminton tournaments (U16 and U19)

Ø      Compete regularly with other High School teams towards OFSAA

Ø      Participate in RABC High School Challenge nights

Ø      Register as Junior Team (U16) or Senior Team (U19): Min: 2 Ladies, 2 Men

Ø      Team Registration Forms available at the RA Centre East Wing Desk

Ø      Membership fee is ONLY $10 per person for the Feb-May session

Ø      Fee allows play at ½ of normal guest fee during High School Challenge nights

Ø      Must demonstrate participation in High School Badminton Program to qualify

 

 

High School Challenges:

 

Ø      Every Saturday from 6-9 PM until start of OFSAA (mid-Feb ¨C May 2007)

Ø      Teams play each other under competitive conditions to prepare for OFSAA

Ø      Teams are minimum of 2 girls and 2 boys, depending on who plays what event

Ø      Some flexibility in making up teams if insufficient players from ONE school

Ø      Total of 5 matches between competing teams: LS, LD, MS, MD, MXD

Ø      Junior teams do not play Senior teams to make play more even and more fun

Ø      Protective eyewear strongly encouraged, but not mandatory

Ø      Supervised by RA player/coach Jeffrey Shepherd

Ø      One night of this session set aside for coaching, some ongoing coaching provided

Ø      Cost only $5 per visit on producing the RABC High School Membership card

Ø      If many teams enter, not every team may play every Saturday (will be scheduled)

Ø      Players must adhere to all RA Centre and RA Badminton Club rules

Ø      Indoor non-marking court shoes and proper sports wear MUST be worn

Ø      Bring your own racquet and plastic shuttles (or those from your school)

Ø      Parents may watch from the Badminton Lounge
