Qufei had played an excellent match of the semi-final against Rachel Honderich who had defeated the 2nd seed Rachel Honderich and the 5th seed Vivian Kwok before winning the first game agaist Qufei (21-11) but Qufei calmly defeated her in the remaining two games: 21-13, 23-21 and earned hersel a chance to fight for the gold medal with the 1st seed Nonnadda Silamai, after a hard battle, she settled for a silver medal.
